"I will tell you who the real fanatics are: they are they who adopt false principles and ideas as facts, and try to establish a superstructure upon a false foundation...If our religion is of this character we want to know it; we would like to find a philosopher who can prove it to us."

My Motivation

Welcome to MormonismDisproved.org. I'm often asked why I have put the time and effort into producing this web site.  Some of you are probably thinking, "why don't you just leave them alone?"  So I ask you, if you saw a thirsty man drinking water from a well you knew to be poisoned, would you let him continue to drink or would you at least try to guide him to a safe well? That's essentially my motivation.

Why Mormons, when there are so many other false religions out there, you ask? Well, I've never been harmed in any way by Mormons or the Mormon Church, which is what most Mormons assume is the case. I specifically focused on the Latter Day Saints because I had several close Mormon friends and many Mormon acquaintances in high school.  One day, my mother showed me a book called The Kingdom of the Cults.  While browsing through it, I found that the Mormons were listed as a cult and the book presented a short summary of their religion.  Some of the Mormon beliefs it mentioned seemed incredibly ridiculous, which piqued my interest.  I didn't want to believe what I had read, because almost all of my Mormon friends were very intelligent and genuinely nice people. I began to research the religion further and ask questions of both my Mormon friends and their parents, some of whom were elders in the Mormon Church.  I was never given a straight answer, nor could they support most of their beliefs with Biblical teachings.  After one debate with a Mormon friend, he told me that he could not question his faith, that it was against his religion to doubt any of the Mormon beliefs.  He informed me that he had prayed and asked God if the Book of Mormon was true and that he felt affirmation within his heart.  I was convinced by this point that the Mormon Church was founded by a con man named Joseph Smith and I set out to prove it.  I spent the next few months compiling twenty pages of notes, all of which are now part of this web site. I wish that at the time I had known of the physical proof that Joseph Smith was a false prophet, demonstrated by the Book of Abraham, which he "translated" from Egyptian funerary texts.

I genuinely believe it is my Christian duty to expose the truth about Mormonism to anyone who will listen.  It is their choice whether or not to heed my advice, but I offer it freely.  Fortunately, the internet offers a discrete means for me to pass this message to Mormons and friends of Mormons.

If you are a Mormon, I pray that you have the patience to read the information presented here and the strength to consider the possibility that your faith is built on a false foundation.  In no way do I want to destroy your faith that there is an awesome God up there and that He sent His only son to be our Savior.  My faith as a Catholic has only grown stronger in challenging my church's beliefs and affirming them through logic and science. Religion and logic are not mutually exclusive concepts.

If you are not a Mormon, I pray that you will lead any Mormons you know to this site, so that they too can drink from a safe well.

May the Peace of Jesus Christ be with you!

Site Structure

The website is broken up into five major areas, as seen on the left: Theological Proof, Physical Proof, Additional Problems, Conclusion and Resources.

The Theological Proof pages address each of several major Mormon beliefs individually.  For each belief, I quickly establish the Mormon position, although some beliefs (i.e. Blood Atonement) require more evidence since many Mormons are even unaware of these beliefs.  I then use primarily the Bible and the Book of Mormon to demonstrate the many contradictions within the religion.  I also use the Pearl of Great Price, Doctrine & Covenants, and the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible where applicable.  I've added some commentary, where I felt it was necessary, but most of the quotes are self-explanatory and easily demonstrate the contradictions. I've received many comments from Mormons that some of the beliefs I've stated are not actually held by the Mormon church now, even though they had been espoused by the early Mormon prophets. While that may be true in some cases, I've not removed those beliefs in order to highlight the fallacies of their belief in continuing revelation and an open canon.

The Physical Proof page shows the hard, incontrovertible evidence that Joseph Smith was a false prophet. I demonstrate beyond all reasonable doubt that Smith produced the Book of Abraham using Egyptian funerary texts. If you read nothing else on my website, you must read this page. This is also why this single page has its own category.

The Additional Problems links provide further evidence of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's illegitimacy. I've done some statistical analysis of the use of the phrase "It came to pass" and the word "exceedingly" in the Book of Mormon, which is discussed in the Book of Mormon Authorship page. The other pages discuss the clear contradictions between Mormon beliefs and Christian beliefs and errors in the Book of Mormon and elsewhere in Mormon doctrine.

The Conclusion category include my Conclusion page, which is my closing argument on the Mormon religion, followed by the Questions for Mormons page, which contains several questions that strike at the illogical heart of Mormonism.

The Resources links contain a small glossary, a list of references, links to other useful sites, and to my YouTube channel. The search box enables you to search this site using Google.
